So -- despite yesterday's dismay -- I actually finished reading all the way through 'Pet Semetary'. It lasted three BART trips between Concord and San Francisco, which is about normal for an average-sized novel, especially one I've read before. Sitting on the bus, heading home, and weeping like a child. I've begun.

Every twenty pages, I start to cry again, but I've begun.

I've almost reached the ending.

I am now on day three of not reading The Dark Tower. Amusingly enough, this is causing me to catch up on all the other reading and re-reading that I've been meaning to do of late. To whit:

I went down to the Borders on the corner on my lunch break and picked up a copy, selecting it from a large stack of identical novels. There are no fewer than five, and possibly as many as thirty, different locations in my house where a book can be said to have been properly 'put away', even if none of the other books in the series have ever seen that location.
